Moharamat Persian rug designs refer to designs in the carpet where parts of a pattern are repeated throughout the length of the carpet.
In this motif or design the width of the carpet is divided into several rows in the text, and each row of a specific color. Also design continues from the beginning to the end of the carpet. Furthermore design is drawn in stripes. This plan is known as Qalmadani in some parts of Iran.
The sub-groups of Mohramat design are the general qalamdani, golriz with plain background and bete with alvan background.
