Hamedan Persian rugs are great carpets.
Hamadan is considered one of the major centers of carpet weaving in Iran.
Its importance is due to the fact that the amount of carpet products and rugs produced at a cheap price is more than other carpet weaving areas of Iran.
And because of that Hamadan can be called the center of cheap carpets.
In the past years, more than hundreds of thousands of people were employed in carpet weaving in Hamadan province.
But today only 47,719 carpet weavers remain, of which 37,670 are women and about 10,000 are men.
What makes Hamedan carpets more recognizable is its long piles. So Hamedan carpets are heavier than carpets from other regions of Iran.
